2. Since in the spirit of Halloween and the directions said we can choose any type of visual data that interests me, I decided to choose one showing the belief in ghosts from people in high school all the way to graduate school. The results  of the 956 people surveyed were very shocking since a lot of graduate students actually believe in ghosts. The person who created their original post got the data from. The person who made this visualization got their data from Dynata, using a representative panel in addition to weighing census levels. This data was originally sent by a bi-montly newsletter called Trend Lines by Gradient.They created their visualization in the program R with ggplot2.

3. Using the three rules when seeing a graph, the data is trying to tell me that more adults in high school tend to believe in ghosts than adults in college, since they tested all people 18 and up. Even though this is true, the census of 956 people whom they took data from, 32% of those people in graduate school still believed in ghosts. The shapes, sizes and colors are very bland. They use almost emoji like ghosts to capture our attention, since we are surrounded by cartoony/emoji based items in our world today. They use a simple graph outline where they place these ghosts showing what percentage of people believe in ghosts and where they fall in the groups of high school all the way to graduate school. There isn’t really an appealing color contrast, just gray lines representing the % ‘s and white to represent the iconic color for a ghost. They also made the graph really big, which I would assume was to capture the reader’s attention when scrolling through reddit and they can see the big letters to see if it will catch their interest. 4.  I feel one big change that I would make to this data is using a bar graph instead of a scatter point graph. I feel if you used a bar graph it would make the representation of the data easier to comprehend and understand. I also feel if we added more color to the data visualization, it would capture more people’s attention because people are drawn to colors, while this data table does not have any colors. I feel these two changes would affect the insight the data that the visualization provides because making it a bar graph will make it much more clearer to comprehend the data given to us. Also adding more color will make the data stick out at you and make you want to look more into the data (making each bar a spooky halloween color). Other than this, the data graph is nice and basic and can be somewhat easy to follow and understand.
